This part was installed on my 1998 BMW M3 when I purchased the car. They work pretty good and can handle the hard use required for track days.
Is this your first time buying from this brand? Did you consider other brands?
I considered Brembo brakes, but I already had the StopTech BBK, so it was a no brainer to just clean them up and re-use them.
Was it easy to install? Any installation tips that will help others?
Installation was pretty straightforward. I mean if you can install a regular set of brakes, you should have no issues installation these. I would say that you should be aware of possible fitment issues with your wheels. These calipers are much larger than stock calipers and may not fit with OEM wheels (my OEM M3 wheels did not fit with these brakes). Even aftermarket wheels might require spacers.
Once you've had a chance to use the product, did it meet your expectations?
Good brakes, but rotors are pricey. Replacement rotors cost about $700 a pair, or $1,100 if you order them with a new set of rotor hats.
Any additional comments?
One other issue, I noticed galling on the M12 bolts that hold the StopTech carrier to the wheel hub. I ordered an M12 x 1.5 TimeSert kit to repair the threads in the aluminum carriers. It seems to me that StopTech should have manufactured an aluminum carrier with thread inserts, out-of-the-box, to avoid this issue.
