Tell us the story behind your ride. What made you pick this particular one? Where did you find it? I needed a new daily driver to replace my cavalier. Not having a/c was starting to get old especially with how much highway driving I've been doing. I decided on the focus and spent a while searching for the right one and finally, I found this one. The color was right, it was a hatchback, and it had the black pack wheels. As soon as I found it I knew I would be buying it and sure enough, I left the dealer the next day in my new Focus. Describe the modifications you've made. Where did you start, what’s the most recent mod and what motivated it? The first modification I made was the rear sway bar. I enjoyed the handling of the focus but knew that I wanted more and after some research, I decided on the Steeda rear sway bar. It was fairly cheap and immensely improved the handling of the car. I got RokBlokz mud flaps because I wanted to get into Rallycross with the local SCCA region and wanted a little bit of protection for the paint, they also look cool. More recently, I got the intake from FSWerks, I can't say I notice any difference in power but it does make all the fun intake noises nice and loud, along with that, I got the pre-filter from Outerwears just to have the piece of mind that no water will get into the intake. While doing the intake, I also ripped out the air snorkel from the front bumper upon recommendation of users on the FocusFanatics forum. Of all the mods you’ve made, which do you think offers the biggest bang for the buck? Of the mods I've done, the Steeda rear sway bar definitely is the biggest bang for the buck. It's a fairly cheap part and it makes it handle a lot better on winding back roads. How did you go about selecting the specific parts for this build? Any installation tips to share? To pick parts, I do research, usually on the FocusFanatics forum. What are you planning next? I don't have much planned right now. I would love to get the FSWerks Stealth catback and a tune, but I'm not sure I want to put that much into modding this car. What’s been the biggest challenge with this build? So far I haven't run into anything really challenging yet while working on this car.
