Ready for finish welding! I converted the midpipe flange to a v-band to make life easier taking things apart. Used a bellows-type flex joint for heat expansion. I started from the turbo, worked my way down to the bottom of the firewall, and then switched to the lower section, starting from the mid pipe and working up. I finally got it done. I must admit, parts of it are kind of fugly. I could grind down welds and pretty it up, but I'm not going to bother. Ok, I'm actually going to try to wrap this up sooner rather than later. I'm at the point where experience is needed. I grabbed my friend Brent to help. First goal: get the holes bored out for the wastegate branches: We measured the location for the branches so they are the same distance from the port. Turbo manifold has been finish welded. Some of the beads look better than others, and I had some problems with contamination on a couple of joints as you can see in the first picture on the right hand runner. I'll have to.grind it down and re-weld in the hopes it won't crack. If you look down the turbo flange you can see how the solar flux protected the backside of the welds, and that I got full

Thanks to my long-suffering wife, I was able to get some garage time on Father's Day to start building the runners for my manifold. I'm using 2" Schedule 40 pipe instead of tubing. If I were to use tubing I would probably use 1.5". If you are new to fab work, fun fact: tubing is measured on its inside diameter, pipe is measured on its outside diameter. My pipe wall thickness is .157" I believe, which when you
