Heads are back from the machine shop. New over-sized intake valves, Trick Flow 2.040, are seated with 3 angle grind. The work is top notch 😀. Just need my ARP headstuds to come off back order and the long block will go together. Some exciting news for my 370z, I am going to haul the vehicle to Auto Dynamix in Kalamazoo, MI. My car is being held off site in storage during the engine build. What this means is that the
Fortunately Subaru had the front crank seal in stock so I got that and changed it. Had a leak at the turbo drain and was my fault for wrong fitting but some flex seal appears to have worked and so far drove the car a little over 20 miles, no leaks. Switched it back to MAF from SD for initial tuning, since SD was getting a lot of misfire and running really rich. After a few tweaks
No fun pics to share, but I got the Hawk HPS pads on the car today. Rear calipers were a bit weird on the Miata, one bolt, and then a hex to compress the rear calipers, never done one like that before. Braking is massively improved, super impressed with the grab on this pads. Should hold me over till next spring when I can put on the big brake kit.
Here's how a summarized breakdown of how to make a leather door pull strap. Images that kind of go through the process will be found down below. I missed a few steps along the way but from the materials and tool list and the pictures, you should be able to make sense of it. If you're interested in buying a set, headover to here: https://retromodernusa.com/shop/hand-stitched-leather-pull-strap-set Hoping that in the future, I'll be able to sell them here on
Here's a more up to date look I recently took at Radwood NorCal when we rolled in with some the @wheelwell friends. Saw lots of awesome cars, got sunburnt and helped out @willywongka87 with his sweet Miata. Go check it out if you haven't peeped it yet. #1991BRG #miata #carporn #radwoodnorcal #forthebuild
Got a fresh alignment after a new rear set of tires. Honestly... don’t know what the shop did initially that changed out my suspension recently. But the car felt very loose/rickety after all was said and done. New tires, fresh alignment. Car feels like a million bucks, so much firmer and I now feel my coilovers act better than before too.
It's a Reproduction weight Nardi Teardrop shift knob in a high gloss finish. Item has the exact same dimensions as the genuine discontinued Nardi knob. Fits any Miata shifter or anything with M10x1.25 thread pitch. #carporn #forthebuild #miata #mx5 #eunos #roadster
