What made you choose this particular product?
"It's ironic how this inexpensive part can save someone from a costly transmission replacement." - iPD USA The Aisin AW55-50SN 5-speed automatic gearbox is notorious for having "shift-flares", or hard-shifts/slipping in, and out of 3rd gear as they age. I got this to prolong the life of my original gearbox--especially since mine started "shift-flaring" in and out of 3rd gear after doing a full transmission exchange about a month before this upgrade. I also did a 12-quart flush back in May 2016, but also used Lucas Stop Slip at the time, as well; however, the transmission didn't really have shifting issues back then.
Is this your first time buying from this brand? Did you consider other brands?
Was it easy to install? Any installation tips that will help others?
It was relatively easy to install. For installing the new servo cap, definitely have something like a 10mm bolt to act as a fulcrum against a large screwdriver (or large extension bar, breaker bar, etc.) to aid in compressing the piston and cover. It will definitely assist with getting the new snap ring pressed in properly, which is something you definitely don't want to shoot out while driving! Also, a Transmission Module Software Update is recommended in conjunction with this upgrade!
Once you've had a chance to use the product, did it meet your expectations?
YES! This, along with another full bottle of Lucas Stop-Slip allowed the transmission to shift properly, as well as allow a bump in performance!
Any additional comments?
If you have a Volvo, or any other vehicle made prior to MY2005 with an AW55-50/51SN, GET THIS PART AND INSTALL IT! It's VERY inexpensive, and can save you hundreds, if not over a thousand dollars in transmission repairs---or even save you from having to junk your car!
