In 1977 my father in law bought this truck. He used it during thinning contracts with the Forest Service, as the family truck thru the 80s and early 90s and parked it next to the house when he got tired of fixing it. I think that was in '99 or so.  Around 2010 my brother in law had the thought "Hey! Free truck! Just add effort!" and slowly got it back on the road. He used it to haul a Burningman camper and to get around town until, for whatever reason, the #2 conn rod bearing took a dive. Rather than rebuild it, Jeffrey decided to sell it w/ camper for $2,000.  My wife didn't want to see the truck leave the family and asked me if I wanted "us" to buy it. It wasn't really in my budget but we made an arrangement, the truck was ours & I started working on it.  Now it's got a 4.8 liter engine, 4 speed automatic, power steering, hydraulic assist brakes and 12" front rotors.  There's a (long) list of projects & body work tasks but I'm in no rush - the truck is a lot of fun to drive as-is.
