This car came into my life totally by sheer luck. I was looking to order a 2014 Audi S5 in Nagaro Blue paint from the factory. While I was saving up money, I happen to look at some MK6 Golf R's. I found a 2012 Golf R with an APR Stage III kit and a few goodies, but it was sold before I was able to look at it. After a few weeks, I came across a 2013 Golf R 2 Door with Nav/Sunroof. The owner was motivated to sell because he was trying to get a fully loaded 2014 S4 at a "steal". Needless to say, I made the purchase because he had already done some preliminary work to the car which made it easier to get to where I wanted to go at a great price. So here is the build sheet for this car. I like them alot.. Since the stock rotors were 345mm, i decided to not get a Big brake kit. Since the cheapest BBK is only 332mm. of course minus the nicer calipers.. =P The ECS rotors are directionally vaned which is like the STOPTECH Aeroroters and its lightweight.. always a plus. Just get some good pads. The Hawk 5.0 is just ok. I am going to try a different manufacturer next time to see if I can find one that grabs better. These pads are better than stock, just not as good as the ones on my B5 Passat. Maybe I need the Tyrol brake stiffening kit?!?
