        VEHICLE STORY

I bought this car in 2014, for $1700, looking for something cheap that I could use to learn manual.  I had come to a point where I felt I would be missing out on good automotive opportunities if I didn't (and lets face it, I would have.) I didn't plan to fall for the car so hard.  I never gave the red "GT" badge much attention, and I didn't expect much out of a car with over 180k on the clock. But it was lovely.  Even with the crappy struts and an e-brake that didn't work.  I loved the way it seemed zippy, without pushing into an the obnoxious territory of being ACTUALLY that quick. I spent so much time driving it, and falling for it in those first few weeks.  Plasti-dipping the wheels white, and the rest of the badges red to match the GT.  Blacking out the rear windows (and then removing it because I didn't like the look).  So much so that I procrastinated on the e-check and it threw the engine light on 4 days before the temp tags expired. Upon taking it to the shop, I was informed that there was about $2k worth of repairs needing to be done.  I couldn't come off that kind of scratch so I looked into the parts it needed, and realized a large portion of that estimate was labor - and that it wasn't as much complicated repairs as they were time consuming. Cut to almost 7 months later, and its still parked in the back - needing those repairs. But I finally got the courage and motivation to fix her, after literally only seeing ONE other Accent GT on the road in that time.  I enjoy both the odd uniqueness that this vehicle has, as well as the fact that there don't seem to be many tuned ones in the United States, although there have been some impressive ones in places like Peru and Mexico. So, I will once again take up the torch for this little beast - and who knows.  Maybe we'll try to make her choo-choo sometime down the line.  :D
